Season 10

Oh, Season 10 was hard on the heart, and on the funny bone. They killed off the utterly, cartoonishly repugnant Dr. Romano by dropping a helicopter on him (in "Freefall"), a move widely derided by fans as the new millennium's version of "jumping the shark." Many fans... more were conflicted about "ER" moving so much of the drama to Africa, but it certainly gave Visnjic some fantastic scenes, particularly in the episode "The Lost," as he waits to be killed by Congolese militia. The writers also showed their writing power in an achingly sad episode, "Midnight": Carter and Kem (and, by extension, viewers) have their hearts break over the loss of their stillborn baby.
