Vinnie Jones Though some of the actors on
this list simply play bad boys, ex-professional footballer Vinnie Jones is the
bona fide real deal. One of soccer's hard men (and known as a dirty player),
Jones didn't hit screens until the age of 33, when he appeared in Guy Ritchie's ... morebreakthrough cult hit, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels." Since then he's been
mightily prolific, appearing in countless movies as various shades of bad, tough
and corrupt. Though he did provide vocal talent for "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" as Rommel. (I haven't seen the
movie, but I'm thinking his character was a little rougher than the big, orange
cat.) Lacking the classical experience and range of a Christian Bale or Ian McShane, the piercing, granite-faced Jones is
nevertheless powerfully menacing in movies from "Mean Machine" (as a bad boy soccer player, hardly a stretch) to
"X-Men: The Last Stand" (as the ultrapowerful mutant
Juggernaut). Look for him next in the newest Harold Ramis biblical comedy, "The Year One." Huh. Wonder if he'll be funny. (Sara De
