Analysis: Coming off failure in his attempt at ... morestraight drama in "The Razor's Edge" (Murray still had too much of the impish twinkle to play Somerset Maugham's sincere soul-seeker), this cameo allowed Murray to pull out all the stops -- the ideal drooling, masochistic yin to D.D.S. Steve Martin's sadistic bicuspid-yanking yang.
