"Avatar" Plot Thickens: Did James Cameron have a good or bad week following the premiere of the "Avatar" trailer and the 16 minutes of footage shown at IMAX theatres on August 21? Hard to say. The trailer was met with an underwhelming response, but reports from all over the ... morecountry about the free IMAX showings were more positive, although many were far from full. My own experience was that seeing the footage on an IMAX screen was far more impressive than watching a trailer on a computer (or even seeing it at Comic-Con), although I still have my reservations. More ominously, even the screening I attended in Los Angeles had a number of empty seats. If this is L.A., how did the thing play in Kansas? And then there's this. The last thing any "game changer" needs is an accusation of plagiarism.
