The original concept was to create a silhouette shape that was unique and recognizable from all other characters in our film. He needed to have a strong, massive body that left an immediate impression. The design needed to fit the complex simplicity of the other ... morecharacters and have elements of the Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy creator) design philosophy from the original mangas. The Peacekeeper at the end of the day is a powerful drone /weapon that can be controlled and influenced so the design couldn't be too high tech. We designed the character knowing that it's true weapon would be the adaptive technology, so it would rely less on exterior weapons or mounted guns. The plated chest design was always meant to be able to house an energy source and be a visual focal point.
