Six years
ago, the biggest obstacle in launching "Battlestar Galactica" was
explaining what happened to Lorne Greene and that creepy robot
dog. Now, the show's creators have a more daunting challenge: giving us the
perfect ending to what many ... moreconsider to be the perfect sci-fi show. Ever since
its launch, the acclaim for the series has been as universal as the Galactica
itself. While bringing newfound respect to the genre, the series has won
numerous awards, been named best show on television by the likes of Rolling
Stone, and was even named by Time magazine as one of the 100 Best TV Shows of
All Time. But what now? Will Adama get hit on the head with a golf ball then
wake up to be told it was all a bad dream? Will Starbuck and Apollo sit down in
a coffee shop booth, select a Journey song on the jukebox, and fade to black? Or
will the space battleship look down upon a planet, only to see the word
"Goodbye" spelled out in (really, really big) rocks? Below is our list of TV's
all-time best goodbyes. As we ponder whether "Battlestar" will earn itself a
place in the pantheon, we look forward to what will hopefully be one fantastic
frakkin' finale. Close
