A fresh-faced and squeaky-clean alternative to other actor-pop stars such as
Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff began her career as a ballet dancer at age
6. She soon turned to acting, and got her big break in 2001 when she was awarded
the role of Lizzie ... moreMcGuire in the Disney Channel's quirky TV show, "The Lizzie
McGuire Show." She then transitioned to the big-screen, starring in the film
version of her show, "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," and appearing in "Human Nature," "Agent Cody Banks" and "A Cinderella Story." During the height of Lizzie
McGuire-mania, Hilary also ventured into the music arena, recording songs for
various movie soundtracks. In 2003, she released her first full-length album,
"Metamorphosis." Next year, Hilary will appear in the indie
comedy "Material Girls" with her sister Haylie and Anjelica Huston.
