up "A Nightmare on Elm Street." In the classic horror film, Langenkamp plays a
teenager who's being plagued by a recurring nightmare in which she's chased by a
menacing, scarred man who also wields a razor-bladed glove. Johnny Depp plays her boyfriend, who dies in one of
the most disgusting scenes put to celluloid. The killer, Freddy Krueger, would
go on to become a movie monster icon and star in six sequels. Langenkamp
returned for the third movie, "Dream Warriors," and made a final appearance in "New Nightmare," which featured the actress playing herself in
the "real world" (but trouble arises when it appears that Freddy is haunting
those involved with the making of the original film). Incidentally, a new
version of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" featuring Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy will hit theaters next
year.
