by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies

High-strung control-freak TV producer Katherine Heigl clashes with swaggering TV personality Gerard Butler, a red-meat and machismo guy who plays the straight-talk guru of what guys really think. Can true love, or at the very least a contrived battle-of-the-sexes romantic comedy filled with smutty humor, be far behind? This film "thinks it's bold, risky and taboo-breaking," complains MSN critic James Rocchi, "but the much uglier truth is that it plays as a bland, rote bundle of clichés wrapped up so tight it suffocates itself." There's commentary by director Robert Luketic and producer Gary Lucchesi on select scenes, a pair of self-congratulatory featurettes, six deleted scenes, two alternate endings and the obligatory gag reel. Also available on Blu-ray.
