The Pink Panther 2

Steve Martin is back as Inspector Clouseau, and he teams up with an "international dream team" of detectives (Alfred Molina, Yuki Matsuzaki and Andy Garcia) to track down an international master thief (Jeremy Irons). "There are chuckles, maybe even a belly laugh or two if you're in a charitable mood," writes Associated Press critic David Germain. "But the movie's mostly a waste of time and talent." That talent also includes John Cleese (taking over the role of Clouseau's long-suffering boss), Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Aishwarya Rai and Lily Tomlin. Both the DVD and Blu-ray include two featurettes and a gag reel. A bonus disc of original "Pink Panther" animated shorts has been announced for both editions but was not made available for review in time for the column.
