DVD Review
by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies

Liam Neeson is not your traditional action hero in this Euro thriller. He's a former covert agent who applies his "very particular set of skills" to the Albanian underworld of Paris when his teenage daughter (Maggie Grace) is kidnapped on her summer European adventure. Director Pierre Morel moves the film with a brisk, ruthless momentum (at least after the lolling setup) and never lets it flag. The DVD features both the theatrical version and an "extended unrated" version (which runs about two minutes longer), and two commentary tracks, one with Morel and his cinematographers (in French with English subtitles), the other by writer Robert Mark Kamen, who delivers a practical and incisive primer in screenplay construction and development. Also features "Side by Side Comparisons" of six action scenes and behind-the-scenes footage, a bilingual 18-minute "Le Making Of" and footage from the film premiere. A Blu-ray version has also been announced, but Fox has chosen not to make any copies available for review prior to the street date.
