![]() R,2hrs 0min Released: August 29, 2008 Director: Distributor: First Look Studios Starring: DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies Takashi Miike's tribute to spaghetti Westerns opens as a skewed "Yojimbo" (the Akira Kurosawa classic that inspired "A Fistful of Dollars"), with a stranger who swaggers into a town caught between two warring gangs and stirring things up. The film mixes and matches pieces of Italian Westerns and Japanese samurai classics with more kinetic imagination than narrative coherence. The Japanese cast members deliver dialogue in English, which some of them learned phonetically (you can tell), and Quentin Tarantino co-stars. It's pretty silly but definitely funky. Includes deleted scenes and a making-of featurette, and the Blu-ray version features a bonus disc with a digital copy of the film. DVD Detailed Information | ||
