PG13,1hr 31min Released: August 10, 2007 Director: Distributor: New Line Cinema Starring: DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies The loopy energy of Chris Tucker, bouncing off straight man Jackie Chan, is all that colors the spaces between the connect-the-dots plotting in the third odd-couple action comedy of the "Rush Hour" franchise, which takes their show on the road to Paris this time. It's understandable that Chan, now in his early 50s, no longer attempts the kind of stunts that threaten real bodily harm, but his nimble moves and acrobatic flair are nowhere to be seen. There is little creative energy or comic ingenuity in the slick but spiritless action, and Tucker's flippant, id-driven ad-libs provide the lubricant that keeps this retread engine running. Hiroyuki Sanada and Max von Sydow co-star, and Roman Polanski has a glorified cameo. The single-disc edition features commentary by Brett Ratner. The "2-Disc Platinum Series" edition includes two featurettes, deleted scenes with commentary by director Brett Ratner, and outtakes. Also available in Blu-ray format. Releases Dec. 26. | ||||||||||||||
