The joke of "Role Models" is that Seann William Scott's arrested adolescent of an adult frat boy and Paul Rudd's self-loathing, self-pitying underachiever are the last men on Earth any self-respecting parent would want as a role model for their kid. Then again, these misfit problem children (Christopher Mintz-Plasse, of "Superbad" fame, and Bobb'e J. Thompson) aren't in a position to be choosy. Rudd's understated delivery and gentle presence gives him the charm of an amiable screw-up of an adult, but the rest is your basic underwritten comedy of foul language and gratuitous nudity and bad behavior, with a suitably redemptive finale, of course. Jane Lynch is hilarious as the program director with a colorful past. Features both the theatrical, R-rated version and an unrated edition that runs about three minutes longer. Also features commentary by director David Wain, a making-of featurette, and plenty of outtakes, alternate takes, improvisational footage and bloopers.
