R,2hrs 9min Released: April 3, 1996 Director: Distributor: Paramount Starring: DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies Richard Gere may be the star of Gregory Hoblit's 1996 adaptation of William Diehl's legal thriller, but it's Edward Norton's breakthrough performance as an altar boy accused of murdering a Catholic Archbishop that makes the film. Behind his simple, stuttering persona is a fierce, rage-filled personality that erupts under stress (Norton's first stab at the Incredible Hulk?). Unfortunately, there isn't much else to this thin thriller, even with a cast that includes Laura Linney, John Mahoney, Alfre Woodard and Frances McDormand. The new "Hard Evidence Edition" features commentary by director Hoblit and a new interview with Norton among its supplements, on both the DVD and Blu-ray editions. | ||||||||||||||
