![]() PG13,1hr 39min Genre: Released: January 9, 2009 Director: Distributor: Screen Gems/SONY PICTURES Starring: DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies Morris Chestnut and Taraji P. Henson are a married couple drifting apart, and Jenifer Lewis is the mother-in-law who helps drive the wedge between them with her anger and resentment in this modern domestic drama with a religious foundation. It's based on a novel by Bishop T.D. Jakes; and I respect his messages and themes, but not always his artistry. This feature, directed by Bill Duke, has a fine message of responsibility and respect in marriage, but it's less a full-blooded drama than a parable by way of a sermon, and too often it comes off as a rebuke to the domineering wife whose ambitions conflict with the husband's desire for a family. Includes the featurette "Making Not Easily Broken" and deleted scenes. | ||
