Nicolas Cage is a Las Vegas showroom magician who can see the future -- two minutes into the future, to be precise -- in the sci-fi thriller based on the Philip K. Dick short story "The Golden Man." When a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, a government agent (Julianne Moore) goes in search of the runaway seer for help in stopping the future. "A nuclear thriller with a wonderfully preposterous premise, 'Next' generates surprisingly little suspense" wrote critic John Hartl on MSNBC. "The actors and filmmakers appear to be going through the motions, temporarily incapable of delivering a valid performance or suspending disbelief." Jessica Biel and Peter Falk co-star, and Lee Tamahori directs. The DVD features a quartet of behind-the-scenes featurettes.
