Marley & Me

Lovable puppy Marley is a high-maintenance hurricane on four legs for young professional couple John and Jennifer Grogan (Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston), but this low-key comedy (based on John Grogan's memoir) is less a family dog farce than a story of family. It's a slow starter but soon settles into a perceptive look at the struggles with everyday accommodations to the responsibilities of family and the little joys that come with it. Features 19 deleted scenes and a gag reel. The "Two-Disc Special Edition" also includes a bunch of dog-centric featurettes (though the two-minute "When Not to Pee" tells you more about what it takes to get a comic performance from a dog than the rest of the supplements put together) and a digital copy of the film for portable media players. There's also a Blu-ray edition.
