Lucky You

Curtis Hanson sets his romantic drama against the backdrop of the high-stakes world of professional poker in Las Vegas and comes up with a familiar story carried by charismatic stars Eric Bana (as a reckless gambler struggling to curb his emotions and self-defeating impulses) and Drew Barrymore. Robert Duvall provides solid support as a legendary gambler who just happens to be Bana's estranged father, imparting wisdom through tough-love contests. Director Hanson "throws caution to the winds and bets on the idea that multiplex audiences will be as fascinated with poker as he clearly is," wrote film critic John Hartl on MSNBC.
