Pictures/New Line Cinema DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies A romantic comedy based on a nonfiction self-help best-seller, "He's Just Not That Into You" is polite, plodding, not very funny and seemingly unending -- sort of like a bad first date with a gorgeous but dull setup. Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Justin Long, Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore (who also produced the film) are among the pretty young singles and marrieds who act out object lessons in dating don'ts and relationship blunders, complete with clues writ large in chapter headings. It kind of takes the romance out of romance. The DVD features five deleted scenes with optional commentary by director Ken Kwapis, but the Blu-ray edition includes "Duet for Telephones," a brief illustration on how Kwapis created a dramatic connection between two characters who are not physically in the same scene. Also on Blu-ray are mini-featurettes on the characters and a lightweight making-of featurette. | ||
