PG13,1hr 40min Released: May 1, 2009 Director: Distributor: Warner Bros. Pictures DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies Matthew McConaughey is once again the blithely charming womanizer who dumps women like they were past-date leftovers. But, at his brother's wedding, he's confronted with a "Christmas Carol" tour through his transgressions. He is "the embodiment of sleaze," in the words of MSN critic Mary Pols, who complains that "we are supposed to stomach the notion that his destiny is to end up with prettiest, nicest bridesmaid, Jenny (played by the luminous Jennifer Garner)." Michael Douglas plays his ladies' man of an uncle, and Breckin Meyer, Lacey Chabert, Emma Stone and Robert Forster co-star. The DVD features both wide-screen and full-screen editions of the film but no supplements. The Blu-ray edition includes three inconsequential featurettes, deleted scenes and a digital copy of the film for portable media players. | ||||||||||||||
