Déjà Vu

Denzel Washington and director Tony Scott team up again for this thriller about a federal agent (Washington) investigating an explosion on a New Orleans ferry and the connected murder of a young woman (Paula Patton). During the investigation, he discovers that his flashes of déjà vu aren't all in his head. With the help of a top-secret government device that can eavesdrop on the recent past, he tries to stop a terrorist attack and prevent a murder that has already happened. "Whether or not you get that nagging sensation that you've seen 'Déjà Vu' before, your brain will seriously hurt trying to figure out whether its central gimmick works," writes AP critic Christie Lemire, who quietly adds: "(It doesn't.) ... Then again this is the kind of movie that you're either going to go with or you're not ..." Val Kilmer, Jim Caviezel, Bruce Greenwood and Adam Goldberg co-star.
