City of Ember

Bill Murray and Tim Robbins star in this big-screen fantasy, adapted from the Jeanne Duprau novel, about an underground city cut off from the world and the kids who defy authority to find the secret way out to the world above. The film was roundly panned and dropped with a thud in theaters, but MSN Cinemama Martha Brockenbrough is a defender: "It's a movie tailor-made for the times we face, made with care and compelling performances," she writes. "It would be a shame for this movie not to find a wide audience. It's superb." The disc features both wide-screen and full-screen versions of the film but no supplements.
