Bride Wars

Hell hath no fury like a bride betrayed. Not by her groom, mind you, but by her best friend and wedding rival. Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson play Emma and Liv, the best friends for life whose unbreakable bond snaps under the irresistible power of a dream wedding, the pursuit of which trumps little things like civil behavior and rational thought. "Bride Wars" wants to have its wedding cake and eat it, too, both spoofing the obsession with the perfect ceremony and embracing it with sentimental affection. The result is a girlie romantic comedy without an ounce of self-respect or intelligence, a goopy wallow in high fashion and low comedy that is neither very funny nor entertaining. Even the actresses look like they'd rather be somewhere else. Comes with three deleted scenes and a Vera Wang featurette. Also available on Blu-ray, which did not arrive in time for review.
