R,1hr 43min Genre: Released: April 16, 2008 Directors: Distributor: IFC First Take Starring: DVD Review by Sean Axmaker, Special to MSN Movies The title reads like a Sci-Fi Channel Saturday night special ("Bruce Campbell is the Anamorph – the man who morphs into an animal!"), but the term actually refers to the use of forced perspective to hide pictures within other pictures. There are, unfortunately, no hidden messages within this dreary, dour thriller starring Willem Dafoe as a troubled investigator damaged from his last serial killer case when a copycat starts creating art with flesh, bone and organs as his raw materials. It's a dull film with an inert performance by Dafoe and a blandly anonymous New York backdrop. Includes a featurette and a deleted scene. | ||||||||||||||
