12 Monkeys

Dark fantasy stylist Terry Gilliam creates mind games and time travel conundrums in the dense, delirious science fiction thriller inspired by Chris Marker's experimental short "La Jetee." Bruce Willis is the troubled traveler from a ravaged future sent back to uncover the mysterious warning of "the 12 monkeys." Gilliam dangles a tantalizing mystery in front of our noses while wowing us with rich imagery, creating a millennial disaster movie woven through with a mad poetry. Features commentary by director Gilliam and producer Chuck Roven, the richly detailed documentary "The Hamster Factory and Other Tales of 12 Monkeys" directed by Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe, and the "12 Monkeys Archives" (with storyboards and stills) among the supplements.
