Chester Greenburg and Jesse Montgomery III, "Dude, Where's My Car?" (2000)
Studies have shown that smoking marijuana for an extended period will result
in rampant memory loss, which makes us wonder just how long the forgetful
goofs of director Danny Leiner's comedy have been lighting up. (Our
guess: Since they were in the womb.) When pals Chester (Seann William Scott) and Jesse (Ashton Kutcher) awaken after a particularly eventful
night out, both seem to have completely blanked out the previous evening's
activities: getting tattoos, taking a transsexual stripper's cash and becoming
mixed up with aliens fighting over a device that will, y'know, destroy the
entire universe. All of which pales with the true tragedy that's befallen our
hapless heroes: Neither can remember where they left their wheels.
Interestingly, we never see them smoke out; the only character that actually
tokes up in the movie is their buddy's dog. The sheer level of brain damage
these dudes display, however, suggests they've more than earned their place in
the Stoner Hall of Fame. (Ed Geller/Retna Ltd.)
