Life appears to be looking up a little for downward-spiraling rocker Pete
Doherty. Not only has he managed to avoid landing in the pokey for several weeks
in a row (as of this writing, anyway), he's apparently once again back in the
good graces of Kate Moss.
The London Mirror, in a story touchingly titled "Crack Together," reports the
rehabbed sometime squeezes were spotted looking lovey-dovey on Sunday at a
British music festival.
"They got out of the car and held hands as they walked to the VIP area --
laughing and touching each other the whole time," a spy recounts to the paper.
"They were acting like a couple of honeymooners."
Continues the eyewitness, "You've never seen a couple so tactile. They were
kissing passionately and didn't leave each other's side all night."
Also raising eyebrows -- we're assuming in worry -- was the suspicious ring
Moss was sporting on her all-important finger, reports Sky News. No word on
what, if anything, it might mean.
Last month, Doherty told the BBC that his recidivism-prone romance with the
revitalized supermodel, which began in early 2005, was "right and wrong, up and
down."
Admitted Pete, "She's had enough, I think," before sighing, "I love her
bones, I always will,"
Bystanders at the festival say the trouble-magnet Babyshambles rocker, who
has reportedly been doing his best to just say no, appeared "clean-cut and
coherent," a nice change from May, when he squirted an apparently blood-filled
syringe at an MTV cameraman.
"Kate never fell out of love with him. But Pete was stuck in a very druggie
circle and she knew she couldn't have little Lila around those people," a "close
friend of the couple" tells the Mirror. "She told him she would only ever go
back with him if he turned his life around once and for all. Now she is
convinced he is serious about quitting drugs -- and they are falling in love all
over again." |
