Shoe Fairy Renée's Blahnik Benevolence
advertisement

For Renée Zellweger, random acts of kindness are more than just a bumper sticker slogan. The New York Post says the weedy Oscar winner, 38, recently made a lifelong fan out of a Saks Fifth Avenue makeup artist after they chit-chatted in the shoe department of the store's Hamptons outpost.

Seems the staffer was on a break and looking longingly at a pair of Manolo Blahniks when Renée walked up. A brief conversation about footwear followed.

The employee returned to her spot at the makeup counter, only to be shocked when, 15 minutes later, the shoe department manager turned up bearing a gift-wrapped package.

We'll give one guess what was inside. Yep, it was the shoes she'd been coveting.

"These are compliments of Renée Zellweger," the manager said. "She wanted you to have them."

For those not up on their stiletto prices, prepare for some sticker shock: Manolos start at about $500 and can cost well over a thousand bucks.

Zellweger, whose downtime in the Hamptons has included chatter linking her to Paul McCartney, isn't the only big name to do some retail charity recently.

A couple weeks back, Colin Farrell did his own good deed when he treated a Toronto homeless man to a shopping spree.
