Kate feuds with Sienna; plus, Paris parties and helps the less fortunate, Clooney's roadside wooing, Renée gives the gift of Manolos, plastic surgery news on Ashlee & Heidi and more ...

Sept. 26, 2007

There's nothing like the rich and famous squabbling over petty issues to put life in perspective. In recent days, reports of several frivolous feuds have made the rounds, from blonde-on-blonde bickering to a diva duel. Here's the latest:

Did a gangly, pasty actor touch off a tussle between Kate Moss and Sienna Miller? So claims the London Sun, which says the model and the starlet, who share a love of clothes, club-hopping and capricious relationships, got into an argument last weekend at a mutual pal's wedding over Rhys Ifans.

Seems Moss and Ifans go way back, and she's supposedly less than thrilled that he and Miller have lately been inseparable (they've repeatedly insisted they're just friends).

According to the tab, Rhys accompanied Sienna to the reception, where the twiggy, legging-loving blondes shot each other the stink eye from across the dance floor before the hostilities escalated.

"Kate had a go at Sienna and accused her of stealing her style," alleges a spy. "She was ranting on about how Sienna was now trying to steal her lifestyle and her friends too. It was really cutting and everyone was listening to them."

And they likely kept on eavesdropping as Miller purportedly mounted a defense.

"A few drinks had been sunk by the time Kate said it and Sienna had plucked up some Dutch courage, too," the mole continues to the paper. "She gave Kate as good as she got."

Eventually, an "unlikely peacemaker" emerged, namely Moss' friend Sadie Frost, best known as the former wife of Jude Law, aka Sienna's repeat ex.

"Sadie stood between them and reminded them that it was a wedding and that they should show some respect," the source recalls to the Sun. "Sienna was in the mood for carrying on the scrap but Rhys persuaded her to call it a night."

However, the London Daily Mirror says the tiff didn't end there. Instead, Moss reportedly decided to throw a late-night party for some pals and called Ifans to tell him he was welcome -- but Miller was not.

"Rhys went mad," tattles a snitch, "and he and Kate had a screaming match."

But Moss didn't let it ruin her evening. The paper says that, the next day, she announced to friends that she had proposed to her newly minted boyfriend, Kills front man Jamie Hince, after a night of passion -- and he accepted.

But her inner circle believes the nuptial talk is more a way to show she's finally broken the bad habit that is her ex, Pete Doherty, than a real plan.

"No one thinks they are actually going to walk down the aisle anytime soon -- they know it was Kate's way of saying she's serious about him," a Kate confidante tells the tab. "Everyone knows it's a message to Pete too, telling him she's moved on and is happy with her new man."

Meanwhile, in other feud news, if you're eager to smell like a high-maintenance prima donna and are flummoxed between buying Diddy's Unforgivable Woman fragrance and Mariah Carey's M perfume, your decision could get a mite easier.

The cleavage-thrusting chanteuse is good-naturedly responding to Diddy's recent showboating that his scent is "better than" those of Mariah, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Sarah Jessica Parker and his ex, Jennifer Lopez, because, "I'm a man and know how women should smell."

Carey, however, is convinced she and the well-manicured mogul, whose salacious ad for Unforgivable had MTV censors calling for edits, "are appealing to different types of women."

Her marshmallow-infused perfume is "about being unforgettable, not unforgivable," explains Mariah (via "Access Hollywood"). "It's not about a ménage à trois or a one night stand, it's for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty."

And speaking of the aforementioned Lopez, is she on the outs with her mother? The New York Daily News recently quoted her mom Guadalupe as saying, "I don't talk to her very often. I don't see her often ... [Jennifer is] very busy doing what she does."

But the pregnancy-denying-but-muumuu-favoring J.Lo pooh-poohs the rift rumors to "Extra" by revealing she heard about them from her mother.

"I don't worry about stuff like that," scoffs Lopez, who says she assured her worried mother the story would blow over quickly. "Obviously, if we're not talking she wouldn't have called me to tell me that was in the paper."

Further quelling the estrangement talk: Lupe was in the audience on Tuesday as Jennifer and hubby Marc Anthony kicked off their concert tour with a charity-based photo op at an elementary school located a few blocks from her childhood home in the Bronx.
