Do Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz both have a soft spot for strapping guys with accents? That's the latest rumbling from the rumor mill, which believes the actresses may be involved in another beau switcheroo.
Diaz, as you know, is happily dating Paul Sculfor, the beefcake-y British model who was briefly seen in the company of Aniston last year. Now, Jen is being linked to Gerard Butler, who reportedly enjoyed a "steamy courtship" with Cam back in April. (You'll recall he colorfully denied the hookup chatter by spouting, "If I take my dog for a walk, apparently I'm [bleeping] my dog.") The London Daily Mirror says that Aniston, 39, who underwent a John Mayer-ectomy last month, was recently spotted "out and about" with the Scottish actor, 38. LaineyGossip.com, meanwhile, gets more specific, claiming they enjoyed a "flirty, intimate" and touchy-feely (on his end) tête-à-tête at the Toronto Film Festival on Sunday night, the same evening Jen definitely did not meet up with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Reps for Aniston and Butler did not respond to our request for comment on the supposed close encounter. Meanwhile, in a related story that has "oh please" written all over it, In Touch alleges that Jen is back in contact with Sculfor, even though their interlude during the summer of 2007 was so brief that it would be a stretch to call it a fling. "Jen's been texting and calling Paul," contends a source. "Cameron is really mad." But Diaz, who last month was spied sporting a "chunky ring" on her all-important finger during a tropical getaway with her square-jawed squeeze, looked anything but angry as she stepped out with him last week in New York.
Not only did the twosome hit the town for a little retail therapy, but they also engaged in several rounds of PDA at the U.S. Open. "Cameron has been saying she hasn't been this happy in a long time," a friend informs Us Weekly. "She's also talked about starting a family and says Paul could be The One." As for Aniston, who earlier this week bubbled to People that "things couldn't be better," she was all smiles on Monday as she posed cheek-to-cheek with BFF Courteney Cox at the New York Fashion Week launch of David Arquette's new menswear venture, Propr. |
