It was a typical weekend for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, filled with the usual wholesome
outings with their tykes and questionable tales from the tabloids. Here's the
latest:
The rumor-denying squeezes are taking advantage of the
culture in Chicago, where Jolie is currently shooting the thriller "Wanted." On Saturday afternoon, they treated their
photogenic brood -- Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 14 months -- to a
trip to the famed Field Museum.
The Chicago Tribune reports the world's most famous blended family arrived a
half-hour after the natural history museum closed and received a private,
90-minute tour of the exhibits.
Among the day's highlights: Sue, which is billed as the "largest, most
complete and best-preserved" Tyrannosaurus Rex specimen ever discovered.
"They saw a lot of the dinosaurs," a museum spokeswoman informs the paper.
"The little boy Maddox kept saying, 'Is this real? Is this real?'" the chatty
rep adds to the Chicago Sun-Times. "And of course, the things in there are
real."
Security staffers who escorted the clan around said "the kids were really
well-behaved," relays the mouthpiece. "[They] looked like just an ordinary
family, except, of course, you and I know they're not. Far more beautiful. Just
very, very nice people."
Maddox, Pax and Zahara left the museum with a few colorful reminders of their
visit, taking a cue from their ink-stained parents by sporting temporary
dinosaur tattoos on their arms. Brad, meanwhile, toted a few wax souvenir dinos
as he carried Zee to their waiting car.
Maddox's fossil imprint was still visible on Sunday, when he and a still
sadly shrunken-looking Jolie, who stepped out for a much-needed and adults-only
sushi dinner date with Pitt the night before, popped into a local Borders
bookstore.
The lovable tot, once again rocking a faux-hawk, gave a gap-toothed grin
despite the crush of shutterbugs and camera phone-wielding bystanders.
But such G-rated domesticity stands in stark contrast to the more salacious
chatter emanating from a European outlet.
The French magazine Public purports to have scored an exclusive interview
with Angelina, an ostensible sit-down that In Touch features as its latest cover
story.
"I have never hidden my bisexuality," she's quoted as saying. "But since I've
been with Brad, there's no longer a place for that or S&M in my life."
Jolie, who told Allure in 2004 that S&M was "all about trust" ("I've
never been tied up, though," she revealed. "I have a feeling the person that
does it will be The One"), also allegedly ticks off several things that Pitt can
do to ensure her happiness.
And no, none involves fuzzy handcuffs or silk ties.
Brad has to "accept my mood swings ... know how to cope with a crisis and be
a good father to my kids," she reportedly shares with the mag.
She also praises her partner, calling him "cool, playful and organized --
completely the opposite of me." Other pluses: He has "complete blind faith" in
her and "he's both an incredible father and a big kid."
But a big kid who's still grown-up enough to fulfill his civic obligations.
Pitt made a quick trip back to Los Angeles last week for his long-delayed
jury duty. Alas, while justice may be blind, she apparently still keeps up with
the latest rumors.
According to Us Weekly, the A-lister was reading a book in the courtroom on
Thursday when a woman approached brandishing one of the many tabloids predicting
the duo's demise and asked him, "Is this true?"
Pitt was quickly moved to a private room before being dismissed for the day
after the DUI case for which he was earmarked was settled with a plea bargain.
He soon winged back to Chicago, where snappers caught him at the airport
hopping into an SUV in which Jolie was waiting with a mile-wide smile on her
face.
