A divorce from Chris Robinson, a dalliance with Owen Wilson and some recent paparazzi-captured PDA with "Punk'd" comedian Dax Shepard has apparently only reinforced Kate Hudson's long-standing belief that monogamy is a mite unrealistic.

"As primal beings, men are not supposed to be monogamous," the actress, 28, deep thoughts to Harper's Bazaar. "When people ask, 'Do you believe in monogamy?' Well, of course that's what you want. But part of what I love about men is that it's hard for them to be monogamous."

Continuing with her lemonade from two-timing lemons rationale, Kate posits, "Women, I think, need to spend more time understanding men than changing men. And vice versa."

She appears to have put in the time to understand Shepard, whose hands were very much in accord with her bikini-clad posterior in recent snaps taken during their Canadian getaway with Hudson's family.

Another point they're probably of one mind on: Her soft spot for lacy underthings.

"I am totally obsessed with lingerie. How often I wear it is not often enough ..." admits Hudson, who says she particularly likes the pricey support provided by La Perla. "They made great things for small-breasted women."

Cup size aside, Kate also comes clean about how dramatically her views on romance have changed now that she has 3-year-old Ryder to consider.

"Dating becomes very different," she sighs. "You realize after you have had children that you'll never love anything more than your child. That is your love. That is your life. So it makes the new sort of single-mom dating process very different. It's like growing up. It's adult."

Also adult? Her relationship with Robinson. She admits divorce is "really, really hard," but says she and her scruffy former spouse are determined to keep things more than civil for Ryder's sake.

" ... Happy parents, happy baby," she prudently explains. "And therefore, I love Chris to pieces. He's my first huge love. I spent seven years with Chris. I was 20 when I met him. We still talk every day. He still cracks me up. And Ryder feels that."

These days, Hudson seems to be leaning more toward the type of long-term, nuptial-free relationship shared by mom Goldie Hawn and step-dad Kurt Russell, and she reveals she's not sold on the idea of tying the knot again.

"I checked that off my list of to-dos," she asserts. "And I can check off divorce ... The idea of marriage, I realize now, no longer holds the answer to anything."

What remains to be checked off her list is cranking out a few more rug rats.

"I'd love to have more kids," she enthuses. "Of course. I've always wanted to have a lot. My dream is to have four."
