"It's so hard for me, because I'm so open, to hold back. I could really just go on forever about this stuff." That's Kate Hudson, talking to the September issue of W about how tough it is for her to keep her lips zipped about her love life. Still, the actress sidestepped the subject of now-former flame Lance Armstrong during the sit-down, although she did have plenty to say about ex-husband Chris Robinson, who she was reportedly spied puckering up with last week in New York. "We can talk about Chris till the dogs come home," she says of the shaggy-haired father of her shaggy-haired 4-year-old son, Ryder. "I married Chris, I had a baby with Chris, Chris will be in my life for the rest of my life. But everything else -- I've learned that things are better left private until you're actually planning the wedding." Hudson, who is out promoting the upcoming Dane Cook-crammed romcom "My Best Friend's Girl," says keeping a connection to Robinson remains a priority for her. "No matter what is going on in my life, relationship-wise, Chris takes absolute precedence," she explains. "It's important for Ryder to hear me say how wonderful Chris is, and how much Chris misses him." Kate, who on Wednesday was photographed leaving a Los Angeles restaurant with a mystery man, also admits she's not one to play it safe. "I have this personality -- and there's a downside to it too -- but I have this thing where it's like, okay, I've chosen to bungee jump off this ledge," she says. "I have to do it. And if the cord snaps, well, I might as well enjoy the ride down."

Brad and Maddox at the Italian Grand Prix on June 1

In just three short years, Maddox Jolie-Pitt has gone from being an only child to the eldest of six, but that doesn't mean he's lacking quality time with his parents. On Tuesday, Brad Pitt marked his son's seventh birthday by treating him to a day of go-karting at a track near the family's rented $70 million chateau in the South of France. "It was just Maddox and Brad," a spy tells People. "Just father-son time." The tyke, currently styling a blond-streaked faux-hawk, even beat Pitt across the finish line, a feat mom Angelina Jolie unfortunately missed. The mag says she remained at their palatial estate with Shiloh, 2, Zahara, 3, Pax, 4, and double bundles Vivienne and Knox.

Despite reports to the contrary, it doesn't look like Shia LaBeouf and his pinky are facing a painful parting of ways. Star claimed the actor might be forced to have his left pinky amputated due to the serious hand injury he suffered during a July 27 rollover accident in Los Angeles. But Shia's rep dismisses the digit-removal story, telling the Los Angeles Times it's "totally untrue." Meanwhile, the New York Post says LaBeouf, who was hit with a DUI charge over the crash (police have said it wasn't his fault), could be contemplating a trip to rehab to help his case in court. "Judges like to see it," an insider tells the paper. Responds his mouthpiece, "Right now, we're focusing on Shia's hand." His injury will reportedly be written into the currently filming "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."
