Kate Hit With Oodles of Rumors Post-Lance

Kate Hudson's reported split from Lance Armstrong has caused the rumor mill -- and the paparazzi -- to kick into high gear. Let's start with the lensmen, who spent the weekend tracking the actress around New York, following her everywhere from the gym to lunch to a trip to the corner store.

They were also on hand as she and her flowing-locked tyke Ryder headed to a local playground on Sunday, an outing that ended with mother and son reportedly receiving a police escort home.

Perhaps the hovering shutterbugs were hoping to catch Kate with ex-husband Chris Robinson. Seems TMZ captured a fuzzy pic of the former flames out with Ryder late last week, while OK! apparently has a witness to their New York reunion.

"They were really affectionate with each other and gave each other a kiss which lasted much longer then a platonic kiss should last -- 20 seconds, maybe a little longer," the clock-watching, conclusion-jumping spy maintains to the magazine. "Without going into all the details the kiss was more than just friends. They seemed like something more going on and were very affectionate with each other."

Or maybe Hudson and Robinson were just happy to see each other and spend time together with their kid.

Anyhoo, that wasn't the only romance chatter to hit the actress last week. She was also linked to a long-ago ex, onetime hockey player Eric Lindros, whom she was supposedly spotted with while vacationing at the Muskoka, Canada, vacation home belonging to her mom, Goldie Hawn, and her stepdad, Kurt Russell.

But insiders were quick to put the kibosh on the rumors, insisting to various outlets that the two are just longtime pals.

Kate and Lance enjoy a game of mixed doubles on June 22.

As for what led to the demise of her PDA-packed, three-month romance with Armstrong, a chatty and somewhat uncharitable mole at the cycling champ's Livestrong Foundation blabs to the Chicago Sun-Times that he was feeling a mite "smothered."

The source then reverts to clichés straight out of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," alleging that Lance thought Kate was "needy" and came on "too strong, too fast," although, if you'll recall, they spent time together in his hometown of Austin -- with his three kids -- soon after they began dating.

The snitch also claims Armstrong thought Hudson was a "woman who clearly can't be on her own without a man in her life at all times."

Worth noting, however, is that Kate wasn't the one who was called out by the New York Times for her short-attention-span dating history, as Lance recently was.

Time will tell who rebounds first.
