In our bid to bring you every development, no matter how piddling, in the time-zone-crossing romance of Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer, we feel compelled to pass along their culinary selections during a recent dinner a deux. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the actress reconnected with her on-tour beau in the Windy City over the weekend (he played in Tinley Park on Friday), and they ventured out for a "romantic" Italian meal on Saturday night. Aniston, 39, who has jetted everywhere from Amsterdam to Milwaukee to watch Mayer perform, apparently bubbled to staffers at Mia Francesca that her tilapia "was about the best fish I've ever had," while the crooner, 30, is said to have very much enjoyed his veal Parmesan. We're sure you'll sleep easier with this knowledge. Anyhoo, in non-food-related news, speculation is ramping up when it comes to the seriousness of the well-coiffed pair's three-month relationship. "Jen wants a wedding," proclaims OK!, which says the former Mrs. Brad Pitt is "ready to say 'I do'" and posits that she'll have a "sleek and classic" ceremony. "Jen is so in love with John -- they are already talking marriage," a source alleges to the tab. "I would be not be at all surprised to see Jen and John make it legal sooner rather than later. In fact, I would be shocked if they didn't tie the knot before her 40th birthday in February." Premature? Probably. Still, Mayer has talked openly about wanting a wife, and during his show Friday night he supposedly introduced his song "I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)" by telling the crowd about meeting "someone" he really cares about and how he now feels "responsible" for that person's "future." Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn's reconciliation seems to be sticking. People spotted the capricious twosome, who called off their divorce in April, acting like a "new couple in love" as they chowed down at a Santa Monica eatery with Oliver Stone, Josh Brolin and some other pals, with Robin "laughing loudly" as she perched on her husband's lap.
Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal's recent family vacation to Paris with her tots Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4, may have landed them on the cover of the latest Us Weekly ("He's 100 percent committed," trumpets the mag), but at least one insider believes the Oscar winner's ex-husband could be the first to retie the knot. A confidante of Ryan Phillippe tells the Chicago Sun-Times that the actor's increasingly public romance with his "Stop-Loss" co-star Abbie Cornish "is really the real deal." What's more, offers the insider, "if things keep going the way they have been," the couple, who stepped out hand-in-hand on Friday for dinner in Los Angeles, could swap vows "within the year." There was one very important fan among the hundreds of thousands who turned out to see Paul McCartney perform in Quebec City on Sunday night. The pop icon arrived in town with rumored girlfriend Nancy Shevell, who has been linked to him since the fall. Their Canadian coziness comes amid rumblings that McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills just enjoyed a high-priced getaway with her new squeeze, whom she reportedly met last month at a Canary Islands resort. The London Sunday Mirror says she shelled out $500,000 to treat beau Jamie Walker, along with 20 friends and "loyal staff," to a week of fun in the sun at a private Caribbean island owned by Sir Richard Branson. The getaway was ostensibly timed as a celebration for Heather's final divorce decree being handed down in her split from McCartney, who reportedly forked over $50 million to settle their epically bitter divorce. Celebrity babies have become such a hot commodity that even the conception process is fair game. And while the last thing we want to do is picture Jerry O'Connell, whom we still remember at the chubby comic relief in "Stand By Me," getting his procreation on, that's exactly what he says he's been doing with wife Rebecca Romijn. "We're trying to get pregnant," he overshares with People. "It would be amazing if it happened. I hope it does." For now, he adds, they're just having "a lot of fun" testing out the reproductive process. In other stork news, Eva Longoria is attempting to quiet the rumor mill, which in recent months has repeatedly speculated about the contents of her belly. The "Desperate Housewives" actress, who has recently added a few pounds and chopped her hair in a bid to make her alter ego's frumpy makeover this season more believable, tells Billy Bush that she's not in the family way and has no plans to be for a little while yet. "Not in nine months," insists Mrs. Tony Parker. "I can guarantee you a baby will not be here in nine months. Longer than that, maybe. We're definitely wanting a family and when it happens, it'll happen, but it's no rush and there's no timeline that we've set for ourselves." |
