Anne Hathaway has apparently had enough of her squeaky-clean
reputation being sullied by the alleged bad boy ways of her Italian boyfriend.
In a decision that is sure to launch many an "Anne Gets Smart" headline, the
doe-eyed actress, 25, who flew solo at Monday's Los Angeles premiere of the Steve Carell comedy, has reportedly bid arrivederci to
Raffaello Follieri, 29, her suspicion-surrounded live-in businessman-beau of
four years.
Anne and Raffaello smile -- the former
sweetly, the latter shiftily -- at the Oscars in February.

An insider tells People that Hathaway and Follieri are "for now, not
together," but says there's the possibility the split won't take.
"They are always breaking up and getting back together, so the fact that they
broke up this time around doesn't strike me as anything new," explains the
source. "They are passionate people ... This breakup is one in a long line of
previous breakups, so I don't think it's anything significant."
Such talk probably won't go over too well with some in Hathaway's inner
circle.
"There's been a breakup, God willing it's forever," a family snitch snipes to
E! News, pointing out that the starlet's attorney-dad hasn't been much of "a
cheerleader for the relationship."
Cracks in the romance have purportedly been more visible in recent days, with
the pair spied squabbling on both sides of the Atlantic.
"There has been tension between them lately," a pal tells the New York Daily
News. "They had a scene in Paris last week. Her family and handlers have been
telling her that he's hurting her career."
The London Daily Mail, which first reported the rift, claims there were also
problems on the Boston set of "Bride Wars."
"They fought so much while Anne was making the movie," a spy tells the paper,
"she genuinely started to wonder if the relationship was worth all the pain."
Not to mention the bad publicity.
Hathaway has been dragged into Follieri's legal troubles, which have included
his arrest for a bounced $215,000 check (the charges were later dropped) and an
investigation into his charitable Follieri Foundation for an apparent failure to
file the necessary IRS tax disclosure documents.
E! says he's also on the hook to the American Express Bank for nearly
$500,000.
"It's heartbreaking for her to dump him, and she's devastated that it's come
to this, but she really didn't have a choice," says the Daily Mail's mole, who
believes a move from New York to Los Angeles could be in Anne's future. "His
scandals were hurting her reputation."
Hathaway has remained tight-lipped about her love life while stumping for "Get Smart," although she acknowledged Thursday on "The View"
that she wasn't feeling like her usual effervescent self.
"My personality is very kind of, you know, girlish, bubbly," she told the
co-hosts. "Not today ... I'm kind of somber today."
When Joy Behar suggested, "Mood swings?" the actress, who debuted
a new bobbed 'do this week, deflected, "Let's not go there."
In a bit of bad timing, Anne graces the cover of the latest In Style, in
which she talks about her relationship with Follieri and their contentment with
the status quo.
"There's no pressure about [marriage]," she tells the magazine. "... I'm just
staying where I am because I'm happy, not because I'm sweating out a proposal."
