Angelina Jolie didn't waste any time honoring son Pax in
indelible ink. The London Daily Mail reports Brad Pitt's more attenuated half showed off the latest
addition to her copious tattoo collection while walking the red carpet in a
vintage black dress at the premiere of "A Mighty Heart" at the Cannes Film Festival on
Monday. Her left arm is now emblazoned with the map coordinates for Vietnam,
from where she adopted Pax, 3, in March. The newest ink stain sits directly
below three existing rows of numbers, which represent the respective longitude
and latitude locales of Cambodian-born Maddox, 5, Ethiopian-born Zahara, 2, and
Namibian-born Shiloh, who turns 1 on May 27. And talk about an incentive to
expand their multicultural clan: If the Jolie-Pitts add a couple more tots, the
remnants of Angie's not quite lasered-off "Billy Bob" tattoo will be completely
obscured.
By the by, Pitt is also sporting a new design on his left arm. According to
JustJared, the megastar has etched on the image of Ötzi the Iceman, which based
on our comprehensive research (i.e., we Wiki'd it) is Europe's oldest human
mummy. No word on what Ötzi's significance is to Brad, although we'd like to
think it's a very subtle tribute to Val Kilmer's groundbreaking performance in "Top Gun."
Meanwhile, Brad and Angelina may have kept their PDA G-rated on the
Croisette, opting for lovey-dovey looks and tender touches, but away from the
prying eyes of the press things got slightly more PG. People reports "Jolie
kissed Pitt for a good minute" on a couch at the luxurious Hotel Du Cap after a
night spent hanging out with Brad's "Ocean's Thirteen" castmates and Mariane Pearl,
whom Angelina essays in "A Mighty Heart." Star, meanwhile, has a more
descriptive account of their tongue-wrestling, with a snitch saying they "got
caught up in the moment and just started kissing each other out of control."
In related news, Sheryl Crow has taken a page from the Jolie-Pitt playbook
when it comes to introducing her newly adopted son to the world. In a posting on
her Web site, the breast cancer-surviving rocker, 45, reveals that she agreed to
pose with month-old Wyatt for the current issue of OK! in exchange for a
contribution to the charity of her choice, a method perfected by the beneficent
Brangelina. "I have always made it a practice to keep my private life out of the
public light but to be honest, I was being heavily stalked by photographers who
wanted the get the 'first shot,'" explains Sheryl. "And rather than have someone
I don't know sell a shot to a magazine, we accepted OK magazine's offer to make
a generous donation to an amazing organization called the World Food Program in
Wyatt's name. So ... Wyatt is now a humanitarian!" Crow, who went through a
closed, out-of-state adoption, tells the mag she plans to raise her son on her
farm in Nashville, Tenn., with what she hopes will be "a whole troop" of
siblings. "As soon as I brought Wyatt home [on April 30, one day after his
birth], I told my mom I wanted another," she recalls. "She told me to slow down
and learn what I was doing with Wyatt first." As for a father figure, Sheryl,
whose engagement to Lance Armstrong ended in early 2006, says there's "somebody,
but I'm not walking down the aisle." And if she ever does consider settling
down, Wyatt will be "the deciding factor."
And finally, in still more related news, Crow's pal -- and Pitt's ex -- Jennifer Aniston is also showing off her altruistic side.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports she recently turned up in the Windy City to tape
an episode of pal Oprah Winfrey's midseason reality show, "The Big Give," in
which ordinary folks have the opportunity to become philanthropists. The paper
says Jen filmed her segment with baby-faced British chef Jamie Oliver, a
longtime friend.
