Angelina Jolie speaks at a meeting about
education for Iraqi children on April 8 |
Is political activism genetic? Angelina Jolie tells People she "felt
kicking suddenly" while she was "in the middle" of promoting the Education Partnership for Children in Conflict program
Tuesday in Washington, D.C., where she joined a panel to discuss the 1 million
Iraqi children displaced by the war. "The best way to heal children of conflict
from trauma is to have them focus on their future," she urged the Council on
Foreign Relations (via Reuters). "Every child has a right to education and
conflict is not a reason to ignore that." The fertile do-gooder, who was in town
with sons Maddox, 6, and Pax, 4, (Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 22 months, stayed with
dad Brad Pitt), remained mum on the contents of her
bulging belly, although twin talk continues unabated. Said Jolie simply, "It is
a very special time in our lives."
Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani and their son
Kingston in L.A., Calif. on April 5 |
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale apparently prefer to be
surprised in the delivery room. In a sit-down Wednesday with Ryan Seacrest, the sometime British rocker (he has a
solo album coming out) says they are in the dark over whether son Kingston, who
turns 2 next month, will get a little brother or sister. "We don't know [the
gender]," said Rossdale. "It was a surprise last time so we're kind of working
on that this time." When quizzed about potential names, Gavin said they wouldn't
choose anything "too crazy," adding, "There's so much pressure on the poor guy
or poor girl. Kingston set a pretty intense standard!"
In other baby name news, Star is convinced Jessica Alba wants to dub her tyke -- rumored to be a
girl -- Honor, because she feels it's an honor to have fiancé Cash Warren's baby
(she may rethink that after going into labor, when names such as "Agony" and
"Oh, God, when will it end?" and "I hate you!" spring to mind). Meanwhile,
People reports the expectant starlet received oodles of pink gifts from the
estimated 40 friends and family who gathered for her baby shower last Sunday in
Los Angeles.
Has Halle Berry given herself until the end of the month
to whip her body back into shape? Us Weekly says the Oscar winner, who welcomed
daughter Nahla on March 16 (dad is model-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry), plans to make
her post-mommyhood debut at her eponymous Celebrity Golf Classic charity event
on April 27. "She wants to be back in fit form for the tournament," an insider
tells the mag. "She's thrilled to start exercising again."
Looks like relations between Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady remain frosty.
According to Us, the exes steered clear of one another last week when the
football star visited their 7-month-old son in Los Angeles with girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. A nanny reportedly served as a
go-between for the ankle-biter swap. "She wants to keep everything between the
baby and Tom private," a source tells the mag of Moynahan, who revealed she was
pregnant two months after she and Brady called it quits.
