Vince Vaughn may have enjoyed some cuddle-bunnies with a co-ed a few months
back, but even he has standards. Seems he's balking at suggestions that Paris Hilton recently caught his baggage-laden eye.
Rumors of a flirtation began after the puffy funnyman and the talent-challenged
starlet sat across from one another at a celebrity poker tournament last
weekend, and Paris was snapped coyly waving in Vince's direction. But a "close
Vaughn buddy" insists to the Chicago Sun-Times that the recent ex of Jennifer Aniston has no intention of going where two
Greek billion-heirs, a former boy-bander and an ooky "Girls Gone Wild" mogul
have gone before. "First of all, she flirted with him," the insider clarifies to
the paper. "Trust me, Vince is not interested in Paris Hilton."
Also working the denial beat is Terrence Howard, who is taking issue
with reports that he's romancing phone-flinging minion meanie Naomi Campbell. Sure, the two have been spotted out
together, but the actor tells People, "You gotta remember now, I'm still
married." Howard says he's trying to reconcile with his sometime wife, Lori,
with whom he has two daughters and a son (they've reportedly been on-again and
off-again since tying the knot in 1989). "I'm still trying to get my wife back,"
he explains. "I'm always gonna, you know, till she puts the last nail in that
coffin, and I'm hoping she don't." He adds that even though Lori has filed for
divorce, he's not giving up: "My three kids are campaigning for me, too. They'll
make sure that anybody who comes sniffing around gets a bloody nose." Still, if
Howard is so set on a reunion, what the heck is he doing hanging with a
supermodel? He says they "both have a mentor in Quincy Jones," who encouraged Terrence to get to know Naomi.
"We've shared a lot of great moments and ideas," he says (no word if "don't
throw telecommunications devices at the help" were among their brainstorms).
"That's the truth of it. I've only known her two weeks!"
It was apparently a case of incredibly good timing for "Men in Trees" co-stars Anne Heche and James Tupper. In a sensitive-guy-oozing sit-down
with People, the actor reveals that, conveniently enough, both their marriages
were fizzling out when they began to fall for one another, and they didn't
pursue a relationship until they were solo. "The line," he maintains, "was never
crossed." According to Tupper, he and Heche "really trusted each other almost
right from the beginning" and relied on one another as their unions imploded (he
split from writer-wife Kate in late 2006; she called it quits with Coley
Laffoon, the father of her five-year-old son, in early 2007). "Anne and I have
wonderful on-screen chemistry," he adds of their frequent smooch sessions. "I'm
happy that people like to watch us. It's a beautiful thing." As for what's ahead
for the pair, Tupper is unsure, but gushes, "I adore her, and I'm hopeful for
the future ... I've never met anyone like her. There's something really
comforting when you can truly connect with someone and be understood. Isn't that
what we all want?"
Will Haylie Duff forever be relegated to the sloppy seconds of
more famous starlets? Star says Hilary's big sis has nixed her fledgling romance
with A.J. DiScala, the ex of Jamie-Lynn Sigler. "She's the one who broke it off," a
mole tells the tab. "She just wasn't into the relationship." Meanwhile, Life
& Style says Haylie has already rebounded with one of Paris Hilton's
castoffs: She was allegedly spied locking lips at a Los Angeles hot spot with Nick Carter.
With Keri Russell recently married and expecting her first baby, we couldn't help but
wonder what was up with her onetime on-screen and offscreen "Felicity" squeeze Scott Speedman. Turns out he's
getting along just fine. In Touch reports the actor, who gave good brood as Ben,
is seeing blond "Jericho" looker Ashley Scott.
