These days, it's not enough to hit the red carpet in a designer frock that's still warm from the bony model who wore it down the runway. Now, you have to create your own signature clothing collection. Which celebrities are eyeing the sartorial territory already staked out by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson? Here's the latest:

Will you soon be able to dress your little nipper in the same kid-unfriendly frou-frou fashions as Suri Cruise?

OK! claims Katie Holmes is using some of her oodles of free time to create a clothing line for tots with her close, personal pal, Giorgio Armani.

According to the mag, the collection will be branded with the oh-so-original label, Katie Holmes for Armani, and take inspiration from her nearly 2-year-old ankle-biter, who is often kitted out in head-to-toe designer-wear.

The tony togs are supposedly due to arrive at Saks, Barneys and Neiman Marcus in the spring of next year, with items for older kids arriving a few months later (Suri-like mop tops are optional).

But placing an order could be a problem: Reps for Holmes and Armani flatly deny there's a fashion venture in the works.

But could another underemployed mom soon use her maternal instincts to embark on a new career?

The Los Angeles Times reports Nicole Richie is contemplating a maternity line. No word on whether the clothes would accommodate women whose bellies grow beyond, say, a size 4.

Richie, who gave birth to daughter Harlow on Jan. 11, recently admitted that she's not crazy about how her once rickety body -- at least the upper portion -- changed during pregnancy.

"I don't really like it," she told People of her newly top-heavy look. "It doesn't really fit with my wardrobe; it's not who I am. I never had to think about wearing a bra, so it's a whole new world. But you know, whatever."

Perhaps Nicole, who hasn't been shy about showing off her bountiful décolletage, will get some business advice from boyfriend Joel Madden, who recently opened a store for his clothing line, DCMA Collective. Offerings include baby gear, T-shirts and jewelry.

Meanwhile, Rachel Bilson is parlaying her fashionable starlet status into a side business.

The onetime "O.C." cutie-turned-be-banged "Jumper" eye candy is teaming with DKNY jeans to launch a junior sportswear line dubbed Edie Rose.

Prices will range from $34 to $98, and the duds -- "inspired by Rachel's dream closet" -- will include jeans, dresses, jackets and T-shirts.

"I have been passionate about beginning my own collection for some time now," Bilson said in a statement. "Working with DKNY Jeans, a brand with similar demographics in terms of who I wanted to design for and similar aesthetics, has been really magical. They completely brought all my ideas and designs to life and have been so helpful and supportive with my vision."

Adds the head of DKNY Jeans, "Rachel Bilson is on everyone's best-dressed list, and her look resonates with our customer. Her style is effortless yet edgy and unexpected, which matches the DKNY Jeans Junior's aesthetic perfectly. Plus, her dedication to the process and her innate eye for design has impressed us all. We are excited about the collaboration."

And finally, there may be a reason why Lindsay Lohan has felt the need to sheath her gams in an unforgiving cotton-poly blend for the last few months.

"I'm doing my own leggings line! But it's a secret," she bubbles to Life & Style. "It will be a while before it comes out, but I'm going to do it. I love leggings."
