Halle Berry will soon be surrounded by the smell of
poopie diapers, but that's not stopping her from staking her claim in the
already glutted market of celebrity scents. WWD reports the due-any-minute Oscar
winner has inked a lucrative deal with Coty to develop her own fragrance line.
"Halle is an iconic actress and symbolizes beauty to many generations,"
rhapsodizes a company spokesman. "She adds another dimension to the celebrity
fragrance market. Halle has always been a little more mysterious, not quite as
open with her personal life as some other stars. Her fragrances will allow her
to present another facet of her personality to her fans." While we're not quite
sure we buy that whole mystery thing, especially given her oft-told suicide story, we'll probably still give her
perfume a sniff when it hits stores in spring 2009.
"That was complete and utter insanity." That's how Shia LaBeouf describes his November arrest after
refusing to leave a Chicago Walgreens (the charges were later dropped). "I was
an a--hole, and it was a mistake I'm still completely embarrassed about," the
actor refreshingly concedes to Empire magazine. "I was in the middle of a
strange mind state, having just come off a three-month window of focus. I can't
diminish what happened at all. But I can say this: I'm not the first 21-year-old
to be arrested for a misdemeanor. There are lessons in life I need to learn, and
I'm learning all of them in front of the public."
Halo at a Los Angeles event on Nov.

Hayden Panettiere is revealing just how important
that five-second window of time was between her bust-up with Stephen Colletti
and her hookup with her "Heroes" co-star, Milo Ventimiglia. "I just knew I wanted to breathe,"
the 18-year-old starlet tells Seventeen of her September split with the "Laguna Beach" C-lister (via Us). "I wanted to be
single at the time ... It just hit me like a ton of bricks: This is the time I
need to be with myself." And it turns out that ooky 12-year age gap between the
on-screen niece and uncle may be just what Panettiere was looking for in a beau.
"It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me," she says. "It takes
so much confidence; it takes so much trust." The whale-defending blonde also
points out how much she's grown since the bygone days of her youth. "I know
myself much better now than I did [before]. And my opinions of things and my
morals -- I am not as easily swayed as I used to be," explains Hayden. "And when
you learn to accept yourself, the more you learn to be okay with yourself and
know yourself, the easier it is to love somebody and allow them to love you."
