The weeklies are all weighing in on Kirsten Dunst's rumored stint at Utah's swanky Cirque Lodge rehab center, although some are offering a slightly more sympathetic take on her troubles than others.

"The party is finally over," a "pal" pronounces to Us Weekly (headline: "Kirsten's Secret Demons"). "Her team basically said they'd dump her if she didn't get cleaned up."

The magazine, along with People ("Latest Star in Rehab"), Star ("Last Call for Kirsten"), OK! ("Kirsten's Rehab Hell") and Life & Style ("Kirsten's Private Battle"), traces the turning point for the actress to the Sundance Film Festival, when she was a no-show for a Glamour bash thrown in her honor after reportedly whooping it up into the wee hours the night before.

"Kirsten was a mess at Sundance," alleges a spy to L&S.

(By the by, alcohol seems to be the consensus among the magazines, and her rep declares to Us, "She is not being treated for cocaine or any drug.")

An insider informs People that Dunst is "not doing well. She's been crying a lot lately, a lot built up. She's very scared."

Star also cites her supposed weepiness, claiming that when she checked into Cirque, which Lindsay Lohan called home for several months last year, "She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears. She's not in a good place right now, but thankfully, she's getting the help she needs."

Speaking of her rehab check-in, Dunst has allegedly had a bumpy transition into treatment.

"She is very emotional, crying and acting out with other patients," a snitch asserts to In Touch, with another spy sniping to OK!, "She complains about everything and acts like she's better than everyone else -- not a good sign in terms of her recovery."

Theories on what prompted Kirsten's predicament range from her 2005 bust-up with Jake Gyllenhaal (her rep tells Us that talk the actor was "turned off" by her partying is "downright wrong") to her brief romance in 2007 with Razorlight front man Johnny Borrell ("When they split up," a snitch tells L&S, "she fell apart and was worse than ever") to the death of Heath Ledger.

"... When Heath Ledger died, Kirsten saw how dangerous partying could be. She realized she had a problem and wanted to fix it," says the L&S mole, with the source adding to People, "I'm sure the Heath Ledger thing put people over the edge. People were pushing her to go in there ... She's been partying hard for a while."

A friend tries to lend some perspective to People, explaining, "Everyone has problems, but not everyone has to deal with them in a fishbowl. She's trying to take a break. It's a great thing."

Adds a confidante to Us, "Kirsten will stay at Cirque as long as she needs."
