For most men, Valentine's Day is a stressful scramble for roses, balloons and
a reservation at any restaurant that doesn't have "Chuck E." or "Cheese" in its
name. But that's not the case for George Clooney, who lived up to his
(two-time) Sexiest Man Alive title on the Hallmark-decreed holiday.
Sure, the A-lister could probably get away with telling girlfriend Sarah
Larson, "Sweetie, every day with me is Valentine's Day," but "Extra" reports he went all out by reserving a
$40,000-a-night (!) suite at the Palms in Las Vegas, the same establishment
where the pretty brunette was working as a cocktail waitress before he swept her
off her feet.
Granted, the luxury, two-story digs are not-so-appealingly dubbed the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa (the palatial spread comes
complete with a rotating bed and Playboy logo-gilded pool), but Clooney made
sure to show his surprisingly enduring squeeze of six-plus months a romantic
time during their Sin City getaway.
On V-Day, George and Sarah, who was outfitted in a classy and curve-clinging
red dress, enjoyed dinner at an Italian eatery followed by a performance of the
Beatles-centric Cirque du Soleil show, "Love."
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, their schmoopiness continued the
following evening, when the megastar and his dewy date quietly turned up at the
Crazy Horse Paris show at the MGM Grand.
They reportedly sipped Absolut and sodas as they whispered to one another
during the artistically nudie performance, later making their exit "Goodfellas"-style through the service hallway, where Clooney
glad-handed the kitchen staff.
"It was like he was running for office," an eyewitness tells the paper.
And in an indication that the pair's shared goofiness may account for their
compatibility, Clooney proceeded to do a "funny dance" for a laughing Larson.
Then, as they waited outside for their limo, they began dancing around a
fountain as they warbled a tune together.
Their big Fred-and-Ginger-ish finish? A clinch and a smooch.
Jessica and Tony on a date last

In related news, Jessica Simpson, whose previous Valentine's efforts
-- documented for posterity on "Newlyweds" -- included making Nick Lachey go out in public wearing a homemade heart
emblazoned with the words "I Love My Wife" and surprising him with a Ferrari
(for a day -- cruelly, it was a rental), opted for something low-key this time
around.
People reports she and Dallas Cowboys beau Tony Romo noshed on Italian during
a quiet dinner a deux at a Dallas eatery.
"All eyes were on them," a spy tells the mag. "But they sat in a corner booth
to try and get some privacy."
Jess, who, like Larson, slipped on a scarlet dress for the lovey-dovey
occasion, was "very affectionate" with Tony as they downed champagne and
spaghetti Bolognese.
And for those who won't rest until you know exactly how the once-beleaguered
Texas twosome satisfied their sweet tooth, here you go: They shared
chocolate-covered strawberries and chocolate mousse before retreating through
the kitchen to a waiting limo.
