"I never want to be alone," Lindsay Lohan admitted earlier this year. "I hate sleeping
alone." That might explain why she's apparently had a romantic rebound just
weeks after giving the heave-ho to her rehab beau, Riley Giles.
PageSix.com has scored an interview with the self-control-deficient starlet's
rumored new guy, who's identified as Spencer Guilburt, 24, a college grad and
"graphic artist" who gets off to a rocky start in the boyfriend department by
uncorking his cakehole about LiLo, including the positive influence he believes
he's having on her.
"She's doing great now," avows the chatty Spence. "[Booze], it's not a big
deal of mine. I'm not a substance user. It's good that I'm around her to kind of
help."
Another kind of help he's giving her? Ensuring that her lips are sufficiently
lubricated.
TMZ.com caught the pair swapping spit during dinner a few days back at
see-and-be-seen Los Angeles eatery Il Sole, where they made things easy for
snappers by sitting side-by-side at a window table (after each smooch, LiLo
glanced over at the shutterbugs).
Guilbert tells the paper he met Lohan, 21, through "mutual friends" and has
"seen her a lot" lately, hinting that everyone should "expect to see me with her
more."
But he turns suddenly vague when asked to confirm whether they're an item,
offering only, "If I'm dating Lindsay, Lindsay will let you know. It will come
out soon enough."
One thing Spencer does want to make clear is that his intentions with the
stubbornly blond, leggings-encased actress are honorable, pointing out to the
tabloid that he doesn't "look at [Lindsay] as a business like other people do."
As for Lohan, who in recent days has also been seen in the company of both
former fling Stavros Niarchos and record producer (and Britney Spears baby daddy denier) J. R. Rotem, she's keeping
mum on her love life.
"I don't kiss and tell," she told a Las Vegas radio station on Friday after
she called in to help a friend's nieces nab Miley Cyrus tickets.
(Times sure have changed. During her "Herbie" heyday, Lindsay probably could have just buzzed the
head of Disney for the tix.)
However, Lohan was willing to talk about her recovery, especially her belief
that she has truly turned a corner.
"I think my life is different now, and it's changed, and I'm growing up,"
enthused the three-time rehab grad. "It was time to grow up. I've gone through a
lot, and I'm just a different person now.
She then tempts fate by talking up her family's current lack of dysfunction,
declaring, "It's amazing -- everything's going so well."
Lohan also continues to hold out hope that she'll be able to contribute more
to society than the merely "adequite" completion of her double DUI-prompted
community service.
"I really love children," she said of her long talked-about dream of visiting
Africa on a humanitarian mission, "and it would be nice to give back."
But does charity begin at home? With her movie career on life support, LiLo
is keeping busy by giving her impressive lungs a workout -- and possibly
speed-dialing the paparazzi.
"I've been in the studio, and it's going really well, and I'm really excited,
'cause it's going to be more urban pop," Lohan told the DJs of her forthcoming
album, which she's working on with the aforementioned Rotem. "It's good to be
back in the studio."
So good, it seems, she wants to share it with the masses. The New York Daily
News reports a cache of photos showing Lohan heading into the studio were being
shopped around last week for $30,000, leading some to wonder if she was trying
to make a quick buck with some staged snaps.
But an insider supports her right to arrange a photo op, explaining,
"Everyone does this in Hollywood; it's totally normal. Lindsay's excited about
the new album and wants to get the word out."
