Has the holiday spirit moved a few big names to froth over with the milk of
human kindness? In recent days, Adam Sandler and Paris Hilton (no, really) have both reportedly
come to the aid of the little people (literally, in Paris' case), while Gwen Stefani is handing over the gift that keeps on giving.
Let's start with the funnyman, who has a starring role in a tale -- one we
seriously hope is true -- more heartwarming than his airplane serenade in "The Wedding Singer."

A Defamer.com operative reportedly spotted Sandler with his wife, Jackie, and
look-alike 19-month-old daughter Sadie at a Los Angeles-area ice skating rink on
Friday. But it seems their fun evening out took a turn when Jackie noticed an
elderly woman injured and bleeding in the parking lot.
The actor purportedly raced to the skate rental counter to call 911 before he
and the missus helped the woman inside, where they waited with her until
paramedics arrived.
Sandler's rep did not respond to our request for comment on the alleged
incident.
Still, the press-shy comedian is no stranger to good deeds. This time last
year, he brightened the Christmas of two cancer-stricken New Hampshire teens by
presenting them with a kitted-out video game console along with oodles of signed
movie swag.
Meanwhile, in other (far more unforeseen) mensch news, while Paris Hilton may
not be tackling that binge-drinking elephant problem in India, she's on top of
the dangerous working conditions faced by certain characters from Willy Wonka's
chocolate factory.
While making the scene last weekend in Miami, the socializing starlet took her eyes off Stavros Niarchos long enough to offer a
helping hand to a stature-challenged performer dressed as an Oompa-Loompa.
The surreal scene took place in the early hours of Saturday morning during a
bash at hot spot Cameo, which featured an act put on by Beacher's Madhouse.
The New York Daily News reports that the crowd surged forward, and an
orange-hued, green-haired entertainer named Robin Sherwood was pushed into the
stage, resulting in a leg injury that required several dozen stitches.
"Paris screamed for help and jumped up to move everyone away from him," a spy
tells the paper. "She held Robin's hand and said the sweetest things to keep him
calm. She stayed with him until he was safely in the ambulance on his way to the
hospital."
Hilton and Sherwood go way back, says People, with the
jailbird-turned-would-be-philanthropist giving a boost to a foundation set up to
help him get a much-needed kidney transplant (no word on how much she's actually
donated to the cause).
And finally, Gwen Stefani is doing what she can to help some needy members of
her target demographic get an education.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the peroxide-topped popster is setting up
a college fund for students whose lives were affected by the October wildfires.
"When I heard about the devastation of the fires, at first I felt I should
cancel my [San Diego] show out of respect," explained Stefani, who donated an
estimated $160,000 from the Oct. 30 concert to another fire-related charity.
"But then it occurred to me there might be a more useful solution."
Details on the Gwen Stefani After-the-Fires Scholarship fund are still being
hammered out.
