The staying power of George Clooney's latest squeeze, Sarah Larson, is impressive
(six months, one motorcycle crash, a face-off with Fabio and counting), but that doesn't
necessarily mean she's cured him of his well-known distaste for domestication.
When the debonair A-lister hit the Dubai International Film Festival with Larson
over the weekend, two major photo agencies -- Getty and Wire Image -- referred
to the former Las Vegas cocktail waitress as his fiancée in accompanying image
captions. But Clooney's rep pooh-poohs the engagement chatter to "Extra,"
insisting the supposed betrothal was simply a labeling mistake.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Ricky
Hatton WBC welterweight boxing title fight in Las Vegas on Dec.

Nothing says date night quite like two burly guys beating the crap out of
each other in a boxing ring. On Saturday night in Las Vegas, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie joined pals Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale to watch Floyd Mayweather knock out
Ricky Hatton in the 10th round of the WBC welterweight title fight, with the
famous foursome later piling into a limo together, reports Us. But did
Brangelina, who were reportedly acting touchy-feely during the match, make a pit
stop to buck up a defeated Hatton? So claims the London Sun, which says they
stopped by his dressing room to congratulate him on fighting the good fight.
"[Angelina] seemed genuinely affected by what she'd seen," a source tells the
tab, "and told Ricky he'd been very brave."
The ring was as fake as the bride-to-be's boobs, so it should come as little
surprise that the promotional opportunity that was the planned wedding of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt has apparently been nixed. TMZ.com
reports the fame-craving Z-listers have decided not to get hitched, at least for
now. But all is not lost for Speidi, who "The
Hills" script requires to remain an item, in publicity and
rapidly dwindling 15 minutes of fame, 'til career death do they part.
Diddy and Cassie at the GQ Magazine 50th anniversary party in New
York on Sept. 18 |
Has Diddy rebounded from his July split with longtime love (and
mother of his three kids) Kim Porter with a too dewy protégé? The New York
Post claims the meticulous music mogul, 38, has "cut off the various girls he
has around the world" because he's smitten with R&B singer Cassie, 21, who's on his Bad Boy record label. "She recently
broke up with her boyfriend, and they're in Miami together now," an insider
tells the paper. "They're holed up together in Miami, very low-key. He's really
in love with her." Diddy, however, insists he's still on the market. "I am still
single and am not in love with anyone," he tells Perez Hilton.
Somewhere, Joanie cries silently into her poodle skirt. After decades of
cutting a swath through Hollywood's hypermammiferous starlet and Playboy
Playmate population, Scott Baio has finally renounced his bachelor status.
Unfortunately, neither Fonzie nor Richie Cunningham was on hand to witness the
erstwhile Chachi's knot-tying. People reports the onetime "Happy
Days" star, 46, whose exes include Pamela Anderson and Heather Locklear, wed longtime love Renee Sloan on Saturday
in Los Angeles during a religious rooftop ceremony that would have been small
and intimate if not for the cameras documenting it for the second season of his
in-need-of-a-new-title reality show, "Scott Baio
Is 45 ... and Single." Guests at the ceremony included the couple's
month-old baby girl and Sloan's 18-year-old daughter from a previous
relationship.
If the British tabloids are to be believed, Paul McCartney is on the fast track to become the third
musician to pen a song about Rosanna Arquette. The London Sun is convinced the pair, who
were recently spotted perambulating in London, are getting so
serious that the pop icon invited the actress to his Sussex estate to meet his
4-year-old daughter, Beatrice. "For Rosanna to be welcomed into Paul's inner
sanctuary means he thinks a great deal of her," a spy tattles to the paper.
Enthuses another pal, who says McCartney and Arquette have been quietly seeing
each other since August, "It's on! Why would he take her to his country estate
to meet his little girl? He's checking her out. They've both told me." As for
Sir Paul's rant-prone, Manson-lamped not-quite-ex Heather Mills, the News of the World alleges she
proposed a family gathering for Christmas, an idea he quickly shot down.
Did John Mayer spend his formative years mooning over Ricki Lake as she kept the baby mama drama amped up on her
talk show? The New York Post claims the field-playing crooner, who in recent
days has reportedly dirty-danced with summer dalliance Cameron Diaz and been snapped out with Minka Kelly, traded digits with Lake at a
Manhattan soiree last week after admitting, "I've had a crush on you for two
years." But Ricki played down talk of a love connection while chatting with Howard Stern on Thursday, insisting there was no story to
tell. Of course, that didn't stop her from agreeing to send Mayer a few funny
text messages -- as dictated by the King of All Media -- during the tête-à-tête.
The lanky singer, however, continues to cuddle up with Kelly, stepping out with
the "Friday
Night Lights" looker Saturday night in Los Angeles.
It looks like Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have decided to see if love
really is lovelier the second time around. The couple, who called it quits in
June, looked lovey-dovey at the New York premiere of "P.S. I Love You" Sunday night, reports People. The actress
went so far as to keep a firm grip on Morgan's hand while he did an interview
for the romance, in which he co-stars with Hilary Swank (yes, she's starring as a romantic
lead) and Gerard Butler. After their summer split, the actor insisted
he and Parker were "fine," explaining to the mag, "It just didn't work out.
Wrong time in both our lives."
Sienna Miller and Rhys Ifans may have been photographed picking out
a Christmas tree together this weekend, but their domestic bliss isn't a sign of
a bigger commitment to come. When asked during an interview with the Observer
magazine about rumors of an impending aisle-walk, the gangly Welsh actor
scoffed, "Yeah, and they found Elvis on the moon." Ifans, still best known as Hugh Grant's shameless roommate in "Notting Hill," added for good measure, "I came here to talk
about work. My personal life is invented for me, so why bother?"
