Tot Bits: Kidman's Sunday Outing, MK & Scarlett's Stork Talk

Posted Dec. 3, 2008

"Australia" may not be setting the box office ablaze, but Nicole Kidman appeared happy as a clam as she took a breather from promoting the flick to introduce nearly 5-month-old daughter Sunday to the wonders of Paris. Paparazzi snapped the smooth-visaged Oscar winner as she cradled the little-seen tot while exiting a Picasso exhibit at the Grand Palais on Tuesday with husband Keith Urban. No word on whether Sunday agreed that the artist's many modern masterpieces were inspired by the classics, as the exhibition attempts to show, but the very public outing is surprising given how vigilant Kidman has been in shielding her offspring from shutterbugs. As the actress explained to Parade in late October, "People say, 'Oh, it would be so much easier if you'd just let them get a photo of her.' And I can't. I'm like, 'I don't want to. I want her to stay out of that.' Maybe that will wane as she gets bigger, and I'll be easier with it. But for now, I'm still keeping her in a bubble." Meanwhile, Nicole's self-described "little tummy" has landed her on the latest cover of In Touch, which asks "Who's really pregnant?" and draws a helpful arrow highlighting her "suspiciously round belly." Kidman recently laughed off speculation that she was expecting again, insisting to a Sydney radio station, "My god, I just had a baby four months ago -- give me a break!"

Now that Mary-Kate Olsen is sporting a few extra and very flattering ounces on her once-frail frame, the National Enquirer has made the natural tabloid leap and concluded there may be a stork-related reason for her healthy glow. "Mary-Kate's weight explodes!" the tab insensitively trumpeted in its Dec. 1 issue while wondering if she's expecting the pitter-patter of exceptionally tiny feet with Nate Lowman, her artist boyfriend of a year. "She believes having a child will give her life real meaning, substance, and purpose that has so far eluded her despite her success," alleged a snitch. But a rep for the fashion-adventurous twin mogul, 22, insists she's not knocked up, telling Us, "Mary-Kate is absolutely not pregnant." Besides, MK, who was spotted partying with Lowman in Miami on Tuesday night, didn't exactly seem eager to jump on the mommy track in "Influence," the new coffee-table book she penned with sister Ashley, revealing that while her less fabric-swaddled sibling wants kids, she's content to "be a great aunt or godmother."

A little more than two weeks after a report surfaced suggesting that newlyweds Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were hoping to settle into dirty diaper-scented domestic bliss "sooner rather than later," the actress turned up in Madrid to promote "The Spirit" decked out in high-waisted, belly-camouflaging duds. But bad fashion choices don't necessarily mean there's a bun baking in the oven. "She is not pregnant," Scarlett's rep pooh-poohs to E! News. Also appearing to refute the stork talk: Johansson just dyed her blond locks auburn, a chemical-laden follicular switch that many expectant moms tend to avoid.

And in a final reproduction rumor rejection, Heidi Klum declares that she and hubby Seal are quite content at the moment with kids Leni, 4, Henry, 3, and Johan, 2. "Why does everyone want us to have another child? We've got three already! Why don't they pick on someone who has yet to have one kid!" the super-mogul laughs to the Chicago Sun-Times. "I'm not saying we won't someday have a fourth child, but right now Seal and I have no plans for another baby."
