One more thing to be thankful for this year? The ability to freeze-frame the
skin-tastic parts of "Troy" and "Thelma & Louise" on DVD, because Brad Pitt says his days of flashing his well-rounded
talents are over. "I don't want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to
see my films," the 43-year-old dad of Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh tells the
BBC. "I can't see any more nude scenes [in my career.]" Pitt's pronouncement
comes not long after Angelina Jolie admitted their kids wouldn't be
watching her naked, gold-plated, animated turn in "Beowulf." "I think it's too much," she explained to People. "I
don't think they should see their mom that way. I don't wear nightgowns like
that in the house. I've got boys in my house. You don't do that as a mom."
Pam Anderson has proved the naysayers wrong by staying married to Rick Salomon for seven whole weeks, and she's eager
to gush about their surprisingly enduring union. "I'm the happiest I've ever
been. We're good for each other," the newlywed blonde, 40, effuses to USA Today.
"We're in every night. Having sex." Pam laughs off talk that she rushed into
saying "I do" with the guy best known as Paris Hilton's sex tape partner,
assuring the paper, "Nah. I make all of my decisions in about five minutes." As
for the future, she says she's figured out the expiration date on her career as
a cartoonishly top-heavy bombshell. "Five more years of [T&A], and I'll go
back to Canada," declares Anderson. "I've got some land. It'll be time."
Paris Hilton is eager to share the attention experience of
mommyhood with fickle BFF Nicole Richie, whose Joel Madden-spawned stork delivery is due to arrive
in January. "Nicole and I have been playing together since we were 2 years old,"
the tireless self-promoter tells People. "I was just telling her, 'I want a baby
so that our babies can play together.'" Unfortunately, sighs Paris, who repeated
the same maternal sentiment to several other outlets, including Ellen DeGeneres and E!, "I don't have a boyfriend
right now. But I would love to start a family." Hilton, lately reunited with her
chiseled Swedish pizza delivery boy Alex Vaggo (they even dined with her parents
Wednesday night in Los Angeles), predicts she'll be ready to take on
responsibility for the care and feeding of a tiny human life in a couple years.
Call it much ado about mutton. The London Sun reports Madonna has incurred the wrath of Britain's humane society
over photos of dyed sheep that appear in the new tome, "Vogue Living: Houses,
Gardens, People." Seems the Big M agreed to color some of the woolly creatures
on her English manor pastel shades of pink, blue, yellow and green for the
shoot, which originally appeared in the style bible a couple years back (it was
done as a tribute to legendary photographer Cecil Beaton, who lived on Madonna's
estate in the '30s and '40s). But the Royal Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals calls it an "irresponsible publicity stunt" that could be
duplicated by others (and by "others," they apparently mean those who've become
bored with tipping cows). "It sends out the wrong message about how to use
animals," rails the RSPCA spokesman. "Even if the dye is safe for the animals,
others might copy it with an unsafe dye." But the editor of Sheep! magazine (no,
we're not making that up) tells the London Guardian that dyeing sheep is "no
more harmful" than a person coloring their hair. Either way, we doubt Madonna is
too worried about landing on the group's sheep list. After all, this is the
woman who once philosophized to Spin, "It's better to live one year as a tiger
than 100 as a sheep."
Daniel Craig appeared to be both shaken and stirred
when the talk turned to his private life during a recent sit-down with a British
radio host. "You know people who talk about themselves all the time? I think
it's quite frankly [bleeping] boring," said the steely eyed 007 star (via the
London Daily Mirror). "I don't like talking about my personal life ... It's
wrong to sort of discuss my private life in public because it affects many other
people I care about. It has nothing to do with trying to get a better career."
By the by, Craig sparked engagement talk this week when his longtime girlfriend,
Satsuki Mitchell, walked the red carpet with him at the London premiere of "The Golden Compass" sporting a significant sparkler on her
all-important finger.
Ashlee Simpson's song stylings may be iffy, but she's got a
talent for singing the praises of beau Pete Wentz. "He's a great sounding board
and very supportive," she tells CosmoGIRL!. "I think that is so important in any
relationship -- it builds a solid foundation." Speaking of foundation, Simpson
has overhauled hers, courtesy of a nose job and some hair dye, but she insists
she's grown more self-assured thanks to her own internal fortitude. "I've gotten
to the point where being credible with myself is more important to me than what
anyone else says," says the starlet. "People make up stories about you, but they
don't really know you ... I'm not fazed by that anymore."
