Has Kirsten Dunst fallen for the well-muscled and cue-balled
charms of surfer Kelly Slater? So claims a conclusion-leaping spy to Life
& Style after supposedly spotting the pair chit-chatting recently at a Los
Angeles eatery. "They were flirting a lot, smiling and giggling," alleges the
snitch. "They were having a fun time, and there was definite chemistry. It
looked like they were getting to know each other." Or not. TMZ.com caught up
with Slater this week as he was exiting a Los Angeles club with a dark-haired
looker. When asked about the Kirsten claims, the wave-rider, who has a knack for
landing in proximity to well-known blondes, from Gisele Bundchen to Cameron Diaz to Leonardo DiCaprio's model-ex Bar Refaeli, pleaded ignorance.
"I have no idea what that's even about, buddy," he good-naturedly replied. "I've
never met her in my whole life." Slater then gestured to his date and announced,
"This is my girlfriend right here," a chivalrous move that prompted her to fly
into his arms for a warm hug. Dunst, who parted ways with Razorlight rocker Johnny Borrell a few months back, can at
least take comfort in the oodles of free clothes that are apparently coming her
way. Elle UK reports the actress has signed on to be the new face of fashion
label Miu Miu.
After three months of giving each other tonsillectomies in public, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have taken their romance to the next
level. People reports the vivacious star and the actor-cum-"I'm a Mac" guy spent
the Thanksgiving holiday visiting his family in Connecticut. The squeezes, who
co-star in the forthcoming romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You," fell into their usual PDA
routine on Friday night at a local brew house, where they quaffed cocktails,
swapped spit and cracked each other up. "They started out in the bar area and
then moved to a booth, where they sat next to each other and kissed and hugged,"
a movement-tracking spy tells the mag, with another bystander adding, "Drew and
Justin were adorable."
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem just couldn't seem to get away from
the prying eyes of the press Tuesday night in Manhattan. According to the New
York Daily News, the smoldering Spanish squeezes came face-to-face with a gaggle
of reporters when they inadvertently strolled into a hotel bar where a media
event was taking place. That same night, says the New York Post, paparazzi
trailed Cruz and Bardem to hot spot Socialista but were denied entry. A few
persistent shutterbugs eventually found their way inside and proceeded to snap
away, only to have the club's owner call police and demand they hand over the
memory cards from their cameras, which he then gave to the couple.
The Butterscotch Stallion is riding again, but at least one filly is saying
"whoa" to some love connection speculation. Reports surfaced this week that Owen Wilson had ditched moniker-challenged model Le Call for "Bionic
Woman" star Michelle Ryan. The two purportedly shared a
romantic dinner a deux in Malibu, Calif., with the on-the-mend funnyman finding
the British actress "refreshingly natural," "innocent" and "endearing." But a
rep for Ryan pooh-poohs to "Extra" that the dating rumors are "not true at all
-- pure fabrication."
Does Elle Macpherson have a soft spot for '80s-era power ballads?
The London Daily Mail claims the supermodel was spied swapping spit with craggy
Canadian rocker-turned-photographer Bryan Adams during a shindig at his London home Tuesday
night. "They were all over each other, flirting outrageously and they couldn't
keep their hands or eyes off each other," a breathless eyewitness tells the
paper. "They enjoyed a passionate snog at his front door when they thought
nobody was looking." While the two are reportedly longtime friends, the source
is certain "there was a lot of chemistry between them. Even when they weren't by
each other's side they were constantly keeping eye contact." As for the leggy
model having a few inches on the musician, the mole offers, "Despite the height
difference they make a cute couple."
There was good news and bad news for Jennifer Love Hewitt this week. The good news? The
"Ghost
Whisperer" star got engaged to her Scottish actor-boyfriend of nearly two
years, Ross McCall, who popped the question with an antique
engagement ring that's been in his family for 100 years, her rep confirms to Us
Weekly. The bad news? The future Mrs. Love Hewitt McCall was unkindly (and
unfairly) criticized by several outlets after she was snapped showing off a
curvy-by-Hollywood-standards bikini-clad body while splashing around in the
Hawaiian surf.
